holiday MADE fair // Helena & Missoula
The MADE fair is a modern artist & handcrafted market featuring local and regional artists. Our juried events feature over 200 skilled artisans as well as a handful of non-profits. Our curated collection of artisans represents Montana’s best of the best. Our shows are very well attended and supported by the community.

Helena // December 2-3 // Lewis & Clark Fairgrounds  The Helena Holiday MADE fair is growing in popularity and has been very well attended. Last year we reworked a few things to help with traffic flow and allow vendors a little more wiggle room as well. We are excited to bring back all that our events offers for artisans, non-profits, and the local community to the Lewis & Clark Fairgrounds for the third Helena Holiday MADE fair. We worked with incredible folks in Helena last year to bring the MADE fair experience to life and will continue to partner with local businesses.  We have 30,000 sq. feet of continuous space to feature over 190+ talented artisans, local non-profits, activities, and delicious food & beverage options. This year we will be introducing a $10VIP Pass on Friday night 6pm-8pm, $5 Early Bird Saturday 9am-10am, and FREE entry 10am-4pm. All ticket proceeds benefit a local non-profit.


Missoula // December 11 // Adams Center
Once again, we will be filling the Adams Center with over 200+ booths located on the balcony, arena floor, and upper gyms. The 15th annual Missoula Holiday MADE fair will include free entry, free parking, and plenty of room to shop. $10 VIP Pass 10am-11am; FREE entry 11am-5pm

The MADE fairs are presented by HandMADE Montana— a professional organization for art & handcrafted goods. We organize events (MADE fairs & workshops), provide resources to artists, and encourage growth and support in our community efforts.


APPLYING
We have defined our criteria for acceptance and have made the decision to stay focused on products that are handcrafted by individuals or small groups of artisans in order to help them grow. We love when businesses grow and experience success and we feel it is important, at that point, to give way to other artists that are up and coming. It is important for the MADE fair’s continued growth to keep things fresh for the shoppers as well. We feature both local and regional artists and all applications are considered during the jurying process.

Our events draw quite the crowd, so be sure to have plenty of inventory for your booth.  The Helena MADE fair is a 1+-day event and artists MUST be set up and be ready to sell both days and there will be time available for restocking Saturday morning.  We know that staying overnight at a hotel is not always within the budget and so we are going to work hard to facilitate artist home-stays and discounted hotel rooms for both events.

This is a competitive juried show, so keep this in mind when filling out your application. The MADE fair jury will be looking for unique products that fit the feel of the MADE fair (modern, fun, functional) as well as variety and quality of work. The MADE fair’s mission is to increase awareness of handmade goods as an alternative to mass-produced items and support local and regional small craft businesses by providing a place to sell their goods. 


APPLICATION FEE
There is a non-refundable application fee to have your work juried for the MADE fair—$10 for one show and $18 for both. This fee and all pictures MUST be included with your application to be considered. If you are a non-profit looking to have a booth, we have a separate application available.

For many, our shows are their best of the season and we do a great deal to promote all of our artists on our website and social media. We have found our customers enjoy pre-shopping the artists and planning out their day of shopping. This is definitely an added benefit compared to other handmade markets; it is one of the many things that set us apart.

PROMOTION
All of our events are very well attended and we work hard to bring in a variety of customers. In addition to our website, Facebook, and Instagram pages, we advertise our events well in advance using these methods:

• Printed media —2500 postcards,  1,000 posters, 5,000 mini cards
• Advertisements in local papers and magazines
• Radio spots
• Social Media—Facebook & Instagram Ads
• Web Ads— Helenaevents.com and Missoulaevents.net
• Calendar Listings—newspaper, online, and magazines
